2013-2014 Medeama SC(Ghana) 1

* Foli Adade is widely considered as the best goalkeeper in the GLO Premier League. After three excellent seasons at Ebusua Dwarfs, Adade joined the ambitious Medeama SC. Adade is a typical shot-stopper, well-known for physically blocking attempted shots. Adade is rather petit for a goalkeeper, I’m guessing about 180 centimeters, but is surprisingly good in picking out crosses and attempted long passes. Having played first team football for several years, Adade is also good in organising his team’s defenders.

There seems to be some confusion regarding the age of Adade. According to the Ghana Football Association, Adade is born 10.12.1992. According to the Confederation of African Football, Adade is born 12.05.1991. In any case, Adade is a highly gifted goalkeeper in his early twenties.

Adade is an important member of the Ghana B national football team and a former member of the Ghana U-20 national football team. Lately, Adade has became a fringe player for the Black Stars, the Ghana national football team. The picture of Adade was found on MTN Football.

* Nana Yaw Afriyie is only 20 years old but has a lot of experience from the GLO Premier League. Afriyie is a modern right-back who enjoys an attacking role, overlapping with wingers down the flank. After a good season at Amidaus Professionals FC, Afriyie made a smart move by joining Aduana Stars FC.

Name: AKOWUAH, MALIK

2012-2013 AshantiGold SC(Ghana) 1    19    0
2013-2014 Medeama SC(Ghana) 1

* Malik Akowuah is a newcomer at Medeama SC. The hard-working player is well-known for disrupting attacking moves by the opposition. Akowuah is also a great passer of the ball, changing possession from defence to attack by making smart passes. Akowuah has been rather quiet at AshantiGold SC during the last two seasons, and I think joining Medeama SC was a correct decision.

Name: ANTWI, RICHARD

2013-2014 Liberty Professionals FC(Ghana) 1

* Richard Antwi is a talented left-back at Liberty Professionals FC, well-known for his excellent left-foot. Antwi is often supplying his team’s strikers with dangerous crosses. Antwi is also a good defender with marking and tackling ability.

Name: APPIAH, MICHAEL
Nationality: GHANA
DOB: 10.10.1993
Position: Striker / Winger / Attacking midfielder
Season Club L Games Goals
2010-2011 Liberty Professionals FC(Ghana) 1    1

2012-2013 Liberty Professionals FC(Ghana) 1    0
2013-2014 Liberty Professionals FC(Ghana) 1

* Could this be Michael Appiah’s year? The versatile attacker, who turns 20 in a couple of days, has looked promising for several years, but he has never quite blossomed. Appiah has often been used as a substitute, causing havoc with his pace and dribbling skills late in the games. This season, Appiah could become an important player in a shockingly young squad. On 06.10.2013, Appiah scored against Medeama SC with a spectacular long range effort, apparently an early contender for goal of the season. The following video shows glimpses of his talent: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CtPWqFIJ-V8

Name: KODIE, DANIEL

DOB: Unknown
Position: Central midfielder
Season Club L Games Goals
2012-2013 Liberty Professionals FC(Ghana) 1    1
2013-2014 Liberty Professionals FC(Ghana) 1

* Sometimes you just get a good feeling about certain players. That is the case with Daniel Kodie of Liberty Professionals FC. The central midfielder, most likely born in 1994, forced his way into the first team of Liberty Professionals FC during the last weeks of the GLO Premier League 2012-2013, scoring his first top level goal on 08.05.2013 against Berekum Arsenal FC. This season, Kodie looks like a first team regular and the youngster has already scored his first goal of the season, against King Faisal Babes on 29.09.2013.
