* The powerful centre-back Gwaza Iorliam, who had a breakthrough season at Niger Torndadoes FC last year, has joined Akwa United FC. In January 2013, Iorliam played for Rangers International FC during the Super 4 tournament in Kano.

* Versatile defender Fortune Chukwudi (born 18.11.1992) has left Sharks FC and joined Bayelsa United FC. The newly promoted club has also signed Terkimbi Akosu, formerly of Lobi Stars FC.

* Sharks FC from Port Harcourt has lost several key players. Chidiebere Okoli, primarily a left-back or defensive midfielder, has joined city rivals Dolphins FC. Pint-sized winger Yusuf Afeez, formerly of Kwara United FC and Rangers International FC is another interesting newcomer at Dolphins FC.

Godwin Idemokon is a player to watch at Enyimba FC. The young striker scored at least five league goals for second-level side Abia Comets FC during the Nigeria National League 2012.

Ganiu Ogungbe (born 01.12.1992) played four matches for the Nigeria U-20 national football team during the 2011 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Colombia. Ogungbe, a promising centre-back, featured for COD United FC during the Nigeria National League 2012. On 10.03.2013, Ogungbe made his debut for Kwara United FC.

* Sunshine Stars FC has signed Ebenezer Odunlami, formerly of First Bank FC. In 2011, Odunlami was training with the Nigeria U-23 national football team.

* I predict a wonderful season for Samuel Tswanya (born 19.07.1989), the versatile defender who recently joined Kano Pillars FC from Enyimba FC.

* Sharks FC has signed Luter Iyorhe from Lobi Stars FC. Iyorhe, a youngster with eye for goals, should benefit from playing next to experienced striker Junior Osagie (born 15.01.1985). From my point of view, Osagie is a great signing by Sharks FC. Initially, I thought Osagie had signed for Warri Wolves FC before the new season but my sources turned out to be wrong. The picture is of Osagie and was found on http://www.kickoff.com.

* I have a good feeling about Johnson Omo, the new striker at Warri Wolves FC. Omo, who scored two goals for Akwa United FC during the Nigeria Premier League 2012, should be able to score regularly at his new club.
