In 2008, powerful centre-back Alpha Ba was starring for the Senegal B and the Senegal U-20 national football team. In 2009, Joseph Koto, the former head coach of the Lions of Teranga, the Senegal national football team, described Ba as the best central defender in the Senegalese Ligue 1. Further, he said that Ba was almost impossible to beat in one-on-one situations. As far as I know, Ba made his debut for the Senegal national football team against Mexico on 10.05.2010. In November 2010, Ba was included in the “Equipe type de Ligue 1” (Team of the season). In January 2011, Ba joined Belgian top level side AA Gent and the future looked extremely bright. However, Ba struggled in Belgium and was primarly a fringe player. Ba has now returned to US Ouakam and his start to the new season has been impressive. Ba has already scored two league goals after nine rounds. Personally, I think it is way too early to write off the strongman. On 15.01.2013, Ba was back at the Senegal national football team, playing an international friendly match against Chile.

Alphonse Ba of ASC Niary Tally was one of the revelations of the Senegalese Ligue 1 2011-2012, scoring three goals in approximately 11 matches. As far as I know, Ba is an attacking allrounder, most likely to be found on the flanks. On 15.01.2013, Ba made a rather sensational debut for the Senegal national football team, playing an international friendly match against Chile. It is difficult to find information about Ba but this is definitely a player to watch closely in the continuance. The picture is of Alphonse Ba and was found on Ndamli.sn.

Nigerian midfielder Johnson Ukpai Nwachukwu has been a revelation since he left his homeland to make a name for himself in the Senegalese Ligue 1. Apparently, Nwachukwu was inspired by his countryman Dickson Nwakaeme who left for Finland after impressing for ASC Niary Tally in Senegal. Nwachukwu is a versatile midfielder, comfortable both as a defensive midfielder and an attacking midfielder. At DUC, Nwachukwu is a key player and one of the first names on the teamsheet before every match. Nwachukwu, who has yet to score his first league goal, has played seven matches so far this season. Nwachukwu is a hard worker, a great ball winner and has excellent ball control.
