On 24.07.2011, second level side FC Nania won the MTN FA Cup. Prince Baffoe was one of the stars of the surprise winners and several major sides finally discovered this talented player. In August 2011, Baffoe was nominated as “Discovery of the Tournament” and “Most Valuable Player”. He won the first mentioned award.

In September 2011, Baffoe starred for the Ghana U-23 national football team during the 2011 All-Africa Games. Baffoe scored once during the tournament which Ghana U-23 eventually won.

In October 2011, Baffoe was named in the squad of the Ghana U-20 national football team.

In January 2012, Baffoe joined Asante Kotoko FC, apparently on a three year deal. He made his debut for the league leaders on 19.02.2012. On 11.03.2012, Baffoe scored the first goal for his new club. At the time of writing, I think Baffoe has played six matched and scored one goal for Asante Kotoko FC. He needed only a few weeks to establish himself as a regular player for one of the biggest club in Ghana.

Baffoe is primarily an attacking midfielder. He has been described as an intelligent playmaker with impressive pace, tackles and passes.

According to, Baffoe is born 10.10.1994. Personally, I found this birthdate somewhat surprising. In April 2007, Baffoe travelled to India with FC Nania, participating in the “EK Nayanar Memorial Gold Cup 2007”, a tournament for senior football players. Obviously, it is difficult to believe that Baffoe was 12 years old at the time of this tournament but you never know with Ghanaian football.

An interview of Baffoe can be found here:

Some of Baffoe’s qualities can be viewed in this clip:
