* AFAD Djékanou has made a good start to the season and has still not lost after six league matches. The young AFAD-team is perhaps the most interesting team from a scout’s point of view and several players have already stood out. In goal, Ousmane Gnada (born 24.03.1990) has, somewhat surprising, lately been preferred instead of regular first choice Clovis Tahourou (born 25.12.1989). Madi Gnogboua (born 25.07.1987) has been brilliant in central defence and youngster Bobley Anderson Allegne (born 03.03.1992) has gotten rave reviews. Skilful midfielder Sanga Topio Coulibaly (born 17.08.1988) and versatile defender Kouakou Mansou (born 10.05.1991) has been a revelation since joining from ASEC Mimosas and Stade d’Abidjan respectively. However, the man of the moment is arguably Yannick Zakri (born 26.03.1991), a skilful attacker who according to some reports is the kind of player that can take on an entire defence on his own.

* Africa Sports FC has been dissapointing so far this season but the there are several exciting players at the club. Talented goalkeeper Jean Vincent Ahouchi Aké has been preferred lately and the former FC Hiré man is a player to look out for. Experienced midfielder Dalla Coulibaly (born 28.05.1987) seems to be captaining the team this season and together with Désiré Magloire Konan Kouamé (born 17.03.1982), he forms a strong midfield. Africa Sports FC also has a Nigerian striker called Patrick Friday Eze (born 22.12.1992), who has been described as a diamond in the rough.

* SO Armée has scored an impressive 13 goals in 6 matches and burly striker Jean Brossou Kpéhi (born 29.05.1984) is the top scorer in the MTN Ligue 1 with 7 goals. Brossou Kpéhi was signed from ASEC Mimosas before the current season.

* Another former ASEC-striker making headlines in the Ivory Coast is Ghanaian striker Edem Kouamé Akrofi (born 18.07.1990), currently at USC Bassam. The lively and creative frontman managed only three matches for ASEC last season. USC Bassam has made a wonderful start to the new season and Akrofi has scored three league goals, all in the 3-1 win over Issia Wazi FC on 16.07.2011.

* Jeunesse Club d’Abidjan has yet to score a goal after six league matches. I am expecting that target-man Djemory Coulibaly (born 16.12.1987) soon finds his scoring boots. Coulibaly was signed from ASEC Mimosas before the current season. He played six matches without scoring during the MTN Ligue 1 2010. According to the official homepage of ASEC, Coulibaly is 187 centimeters.

* Mouhamed Ismaël Koné (born 29.12.1992) of Stella Club d’Adjamé could be a star in the making. The young attacker has gotten some rave reviews this season.
