In this post I will publish all present goalscorers in the Ligue 1 2010-2011 in Senegal. The lists include all scorers per 08.03.2011 (Round 10).

The picture is of Ass Mandaw Sy, the central defender of ASC Niary Tally. It is taken from

Aliou Coly 4, Assane Dramé 2, Alouise Thiaw 2, Stéphane Badji 1, Abdou Sagna 1, Mame Saër Thioune 1, Own Goals 1.

* According to unconfirmed reports, the Casa Sport trio of Pierre Coly (central defender), Assane Dramé (winger) and Abdou Sagna (left-winger / midfielder) have joined Nigerian outfit Sharks FC from Port Harcourt. Coly is a key player in central defence while Dramé and Sagna are important attacking players. All three players have been playing regularly this season and should these rumors turn out to be true, they will be sorely missed. Neither of the players played for Casa against HLM on 06.03.2011.

* Star striker Emile Paul Tendeng, presented in my post from 10.10.2010, has yet to score this season despite seven appearances. His striking partner, the red-hot Aliou Coly has stolen the headlines and is arguably one of the hottest strikers in Ligue 1 at the time of writing.

Abdou Latif Guenoune 5, Khaly Diakhaté 1.

* Little is known about the current top goalscorer of the Ligue 1 2010-2011, Abdou Latif Guenoune. Guenoune is a striker and was signed from ASFA Dakar before the current season. ASFA Dakar played at second level of the Senegalese football pyramid last season.

Abdoulaye Touré 4, Cheikh Ndiaye 2, Cheikhal Ababacar Cissé 1, Pape Alioune Diouf 1, Fadel Fall 1, Babacar Niang 1,

* Pape Alioune Diouf (born 21.06.1989), arguably the star player at DUC, joined Litex Lovech from Bulgaria in February, apparently on a loan deal. Diouf can play both as an attacking midfielder or a central striker. On 27.02.2011, Diouf scored on his debut for Litex in the Bulgarian A Professional Football Group.

* Striker Abdoulaye Touré has scored four goals in the last four matches. I am currently trying to find out more about this rather unknown player.

Djibril Sidibé 3, Pape Ciré Dia 2, Abdou Khadre Dieylani Fall 1, Pape Macou Sarr 1.

* Experienced striker Pape Ciré Dia (born 19.08.1980), formerly of Raja Casablanca(Morocco) and Caykur Rizespor(Turkey) is the new star striker at ASC Diaraf, so far with two goals in five matches.

* Abdou Khadre Dieylani Fall, who I presented in my post from 03.11.2010, joined AJ Auxerre(France) in January 2011 but is yet to make his first team debut. However, Fall has already scored three goals in five appearances for Auxerre B, playing at fourth level in France.

* Pape Macou Sarr (born 25.07.1991), the highly talented playmaker at ASC Diaraf, scored his first ever league goal on 05.03.2011 against ASC Dahra. Sarr has previously been on the radar of Lille OSC(France) and has been part of both Senegal B, Senegal U-23 and Senegal U-20 during the last couple of years.  An interview of the player can be found by following this link:–pape-macou-sarr.html

* Mor Soumaré is one of the most promising central defenders in Ligue 1. Soumaré has played nine of ASC Diaraf’s ten league matches this season.

Abdoulaye Sané 2, El Hadji Yaya Sonko 2, Benoit Toupane 1.

* AS Douanes will be boosted by the return of former captain Vito Badiane (born 02.06.1986). The experienced defensive midfielder played one match for SC Covilha(Portugal) in 2005-2006 and joined Maritzburg United FC(South Africa) before the 2009-2010 season and played 12 league matches for his new club.

Seydou Kane Sall 3, Yally Fall Guène 2, Ousmane Mbengue 2,

* Maurice Ngom, the defensive midfielder of the Senegal U-20 national football team, has only played once for US Gorée this season. Ngom is predicted a successful career in football and his partnership with the Diambars-star Romaric Lopy is vital for Senegal U-20.

Ibrahima Birame Coundoul 1, Abdoulaye  Dieng 1, Moustapha Mendy 1.

* Three players of GFC have been ever present so far this season; midfielders El Hadji Pape Seye Diallo (born 27.01.1986) and Mor Ndiaye and veteran goalkeeper Pape Souleymane Sané (born 11.11.1978).

Alioune Fall 2, Mamadou Dieye 1, Pa Amadou Gai 1.

* Defensive midfielder Mamadou Dieye (born 10.11.1991), left-back Adiouma Gaye (born 05.12.1992) and central defender Bakary Coulibaly (born 04.05.1992) are the most interesting players at ASC HLM from a scout’s point of view. All players are regular players at the club despite their inexperience. Gaye played for the Senegal B national football team in the CHAN tournament while Dieye is part of the Senegal U-23 national football team.

* Giant striker Pa Amadou Gai (born 18.06.1984), a full international player for Gambia, has apparently been joined by another Gambian player, Ousmane Camara.

Pape Alioune Badara Diouf 2, Abdoulaye Badiane 1, Alioune Diakité 1.

* The experienced and versatile Pape Alioune Badara Diouf is arguably the most important player at the club. Diouf is somewhat of a journeyman in Senegalese football and has played for Casa Sport, ASC Diaraf and AS Douanes before joining ASC Jeanne d’Arc. Diouf was member of Senegal U-23 in 2006 and 2007 and played for Senegal B in 2008. Diouf is comfortable as an attacking midfielder or as a central defender.

Mohamed Remy Gomis 4, Sérigne Cheikh Diouck 2, Matar Guissé 2, Thierno Niang 2, Cheikh Abass Sané 2.

* Cheikh Abass Sané (born 17.03.1990) was regarded as one of the most promising strikers in Senegal two years ago. Sané was part of the Senegal U-20 national football team in 2009 and has now scored two goals in his last four matches.

Mohamed Niang Fadel  Diop 2, Aziz Ba 1, Alioune Cissé 1, Toumani Diedhiou 1, Abdou Lahat Fall 1, Yoro Lamine Ly 1, Abdoulaye Seck 1, Sory Simakha 1.

* Central defender Abdoulaye Seck (born 10.03.1988) joined RSC Anderlecht(Belgium) in January 2011 and his former partner in central defence, Ass Mandaw Sy (born 10.01.1989), could very well join Seck in European football in the next transfer window. Sy, a giant central defender, was recently named captain of the team. He has stated that Nemanja Vidic(Manchester United FC) is his role model as a footballer.

Pape Koukpaki 5, Sadio Diao 2, Karifa Kourouma 1, Pape Seyni Touré 1.

* Left-winger Karifa Kourouma from Guinea is already a key player at US Ouakam.  Midfielder Arfang Sylla, also from Guinea, is struggling a bit more to establish himself and has only played two matches this season.

Adama Mbaye 2, Alioune Boubacar  Ba 1, Robert Francois Badiane 1, Boubacar Dieng 1.

* Racine Ndiaye (born in 1989) and Diao Séné (born in 1990) are two talented midfielders who are predicted a bright future in football.

Mamadou Fall 2, Khalifa Ababacar Badiane 1, Boubacar Toumany Diop 1.

* Mamadou Fall is a quick and lively striker who was signed from Renaissance Sportive de Yoff before the season. Fall has been training regularly for the Senegal B national football team in 2009 and 2010.

Mamadou Thiam 4, Pape Moussa Konaté 2, Ibrahima Diakhaté 1, Ibrahima Faye 1.

* The goals have kind of dried up for the strong attacking duo of Mamadou Thiam and Pape Moussa Konaté. Konaté, a star at the Senegal U-20 national football team is a big and strong center forward. Thiam is a clinical finisher who was signed from Stade de Mbour before the season.

Séga Diop 2, Boubacar Gassama 1, Own Goals 1.

* Top goalscorer Séga Diop is an center forward who will be a key player this season, just as he has been for the latest three seasons.
