FACK BAYOKOLACK AND BORIS EMA’A ATCHAM

Although Fack Bayokolack and Boris Ema’a Atcham, both playing for Canon Yaoundé in the Cameroonian MTN Elite One, are inexperienced players with only a handful appearances at highest level in Cameroon, I have a strong feeling that they will soon become household names in Cameroonian football.

Fack Bayokolack is a striker who has signed only days before the new season. His former club was Saint Paul Warriors, a third level club based in Ebolowa, the capital of Cameroon’s South Province. Although playing at such a modest level, Bayokolack was nevertheless included in the squad of the Cameroon national U-20 football team in October 2010. Bayokolack was a second-half substitute when Cameroon U-20 won 2-0 against Congo U-20 on 24.10.2010. Bayokolack kept his place when a new squad was named in November 2010. A few days later he joined ambitious Canon Yaoundé.

When Bayokolack was signed, Coach Dieudonné Nké pointed out that he was a player for the future who would perform well for Canon. Bayokolack made his first team debut for Canon Yaoundé on 21.11.2010 against YOSA. His first goal for Canon was scored on 19.12.2010 against Tiko United FC. The excellent webpage www.camfoot.com has actually named Bayokolack as the best player of Canon both against Tiko United FC on 19.12.2010 and against Caiman Douala on 22.12.2010.

The full name of Bayokolack is Christian Fack Bayokolack. He is sometimes referred to as “Bayokolak”.

There are several talented players in Cameroon and it is not easy to stand out. Bayokolack’s start at highest level in Cameroonian football has been nothing less than impressive.

Boris Ema’a Atcham is a left-winger who was signed from Ngaoundéré FC before the MTN Elite One 2010-2011. Ngaoundéré FC was relegated to third level before the 2009-2010 season but Ema’a Atcham has nevertheless been a regular member of the Cameroon national U-20 football team throughout 2010. The tricky winger scored his first goal for Canon in the fourth round of the MTN Elite One 2010-2011, against Lausanne on 05.12.2010. He was also named as the best player of Canon by www.camfoot.com.

Ema’a Atcham is sometimes referred to as “Atcham Emah”. He is definitely one to watch for the rest of the season.
