OBSERVATIONS FROM THE NIGERIAN PREMIER LEAGUE

BUKOLA BABES FC

List of scorers after Round 3:

Bukola Babes have yet to score in the Nigeria Premier League.

Player information:

CompleteSportsNigeria recently published the squad list of newly promoted club Bukola Babes FC:

Abaubakar Yusuf, Aminu Onumisi Abdulkadir, Yahaya Abaubakr, Fabiyi Alex Seyi, Moronfade Adebayo C, Akanmu Sala A, Ibrahim Olaitan W, Abaubakar Yaya Nazim, Evika Samson O,  Umoru Enemi Justice, Aigbe Osas Stanley, James Cletus Promise, Eze Ambrose C, Audu Abayomi Akeem, Otu-Bassey Effiom, Ubom Henry, Balogun Olajide F, Raji Abdullahi L, Sogbeso Bisayo Seun, Abdullraman Bashir, Onigbari Akeem, Salami Ebiagbo K, Shobowale Azeez, Aiyeyemi Kehinde J, Ogar Vincent, Ayeleso Olaiwola S, Etor Daniel Essien, Abdullahi Ganni Ali.

According to several reports, Bukola Babes is a club which focuses on young, inexperienced players. Based on the squad list, this is obviously correct. I have not been able to find a single Bukola-player that has actually played in the Nigeria Premier League before.

Their goalkeeper is Surajudeen Ayeleso Olaiwola, often referred to as Suraj Ayeleso. Their right-back, Cletus Promise James, received rave reviews after the match against Kano Pillars FC in Round 2. I also have the impression that Effiom Otu Bassey, who I have previously called “Obi Bassey”, is one of their most important attacking players.

CROWN FC

List of scorers after Round 3:

Gabriel Agu 1, Harrison Egbune 1.

Player information:

CompleteSportsNigeria recently published the squad list of newly promoted club Crown FC:

Osasona Ayotunde, Ayoola Moses, Nwadialu Sunday, Ojo Ayobami, Fayoseh Fashanu John, Etuwe Charles, Abdulrasak Muritala, Gabriel Agu, Francis Sylvester, Emmanuel Femi Ayuba, Akanbi Morenikesi, Adeyemi Adeyeye, Johnson Abiodun, Alhassan Nurudeen, Babalola Ibrahim, Akinyemi Seun, Oyeleke Olayiwola, Uweru Micheal, Ekong Nehemiah, Oyebode Oladimeji, Ayo Segun, Asuquo Philip, Bello Waheed, Samson Abiodun, Adeniyi Adejare, Babalola Ayo, Egbune Harrison, Abdullahi Alhassan, Obayomi Ibrahim, Daniel Bode, Lawal Kabiru.

I am still not able to confirm that Sylvester Francis is the former Lobi Stars FC midfielder, born 23.08.1987. Francis actually played for Nigeria at the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup 2006. I have the same problem regarding Adeyemi Adeyeye, but I feel pretty sure that he is the same player that played for Shooting Stars FC in 2009-2010.

As predicted, youngster Harrison Egbune has already caught the eye of Nigerian football fans. He was actually a member of the official “Team of the week” in the second round of the campaign. I have previously written that Egbune is a striker but he can apparently also play as an attacking midfielder. As far as I know, Egbune is 16 years old and obviously a player to watch. Gabriel Agu (born 15.06.1985) is one of Crown’s most experienced players. Agu played for Nigeria at the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup in both 2006 and 2009 and is considered to be one of the best strikers around in Beach Soccer.  Michael Uwero is the first choice goalkeeper and apparently a key player.

DOLPHIN FC

List of scorers after Round 3:

Owusu Addai 1, Omoh Ojabu 1.

Player information:

The player who has received the most attention so far is arguably striker Ghanaian striker Owusu Addai, often referred to as Owusu Addei. Addai played for Berekum Arsenal in his homeland in 2005-2006 and then signed for Liberty Professionals FC in 2006-2007. In 2007-2008, Addai was a bit of a fringe player for Liberty, playing just a couple of matches and scoring no goals. Addai signed for Heartland FC during 2008-2009 and scored three goals in the league. Addai joined Dolphins in the middle of 2009-2010 and managed one goal in the league. Addai has been impressive so far this season but the statistics show that this is a player who is not famous for scoring too many goals.  I personally expect hard-working striker Chidi Osuchukwu (born 16.02.1990), formerly of Gateway FC, to become their star striker as the season gets older.

Dolphins have recently signed a player called Emem Eduok who played for second level club Akwa United FC in 2009-2010.

In my post “Player information and squads – Nigerian Premier League 2010-2011 (Part one)”, I wrote that right-winger Abdulrasheed Ajagun was linked to Dolphins. I can now confirm that Ajagun signed for Kaduna United FC and not for Dolphins.

ENYIMBA FC

List of scorers after Round 3:

John Chukwudi 1, Ifeanyi Ede 1, Josiah Maduabuchi 1.

Player information:

Enyimba FC is an experienced team that have bought several talented players before the season. Chijioke Ejiogu (born 22.11.1984) is first choice between the posts. Samuel Tswanya is an interesting newcomer in defence. Tswanya was signed from Niger Tornadoes FC and can play at both left-back and right-back. He was a regular member of the Flying Eagles, the Nigeria U-20 national football team, during 2008 and 2009. The experienced Ekene Iwuorie is still an important player in the center of the defence. The midfield consists of well-known players such as the right-winger Josiah Maduabuchi (born 16.04.1988). He will most likely be challenged by new signing Onyekachi Okoye (born 16.03.1985). The hard-working petit midfielder played for Heartland FC last season. The fans of Enyimba will be hoping that veterans David Tyavkase (born 30.12.1984) and Chidozie Johnson (born 06.03.1983), the current captain of the team, will blend in well with defensive midfielder Eneji Otekpa (born 05.02.1989), a fringe player for the Super Eagles, the Nigeria national football team.

Rasheed Olabiyi, their tall and creative defensive midfielder, has recently been on trials at Greek club Asteras Tripoli FC. Attacking midfielder Henry Uche looks set for another season at Enyimba FC despite being linked to other clubs, including Shooting Stars FC. Tricky winger Philip Auta is formally still an Enyimba-player but apparently refuses to play and is expected to sign for Kwara United FC in the next transfer window.

From my point of view, the main question is who will score the goals for Enyimba this season. At the time of writing, it looks uncertain whether Osas Idehen (born 13.05.1990), last season’s top goalscorer, will play any part for Enyimba in 2010-2011.  Enyimba have brought in Ifeanyi Ede and Amakiri George from Ocean Boys FC. Both players were impressive last season but as far as I know, they have never scored double figures for any club, and it is something completely different leading the front line for glamour club Enyimba FC. Ede was a member of the Flying Eagles during 2009. Amakiri George was actually released by Warri Wolves FC after the 2008-2009 season. Sakibu Atanda (born 20.03.1988) is still with the team but has never produced many goals at league level and scored only two last season. Enyimba FC has apparently bought Nonso Elias from Rangers International FC, an exciting prospect that scored six goals for Rangers last season.

The goalscorer in Round 1, John Chukwudi, is somewhat of a mystery player to me. I know a player called John Chukwudi that impressed at second level in 2008-2009 for a club called Sokoto United FC, but I am not able to confirm that this is the same player.

GOMBE UNITED FC

List of scorers after Round 3:

Lazarus Chukwu 1, MacMarcel Obioha 1, Ifeanyi Okoro 1, Rafiu Salaudeen 1.

Player information:

Lazarus Chukwu should be a good signing from Gombe United FC. He was impressive for Zamfara United FC in 2007-2008 and also had a decent season for Warri Wolves FC in 2008-2009. Gombe United FC have apparently signed defender Ibrahim Ndala (born 02.05.1985), a former professional in Israel who played for Sunshine Stars FC in 2007-2008 and Sharks FC in 2008-2009. Ndala was part of Nigeria U-23 back in 2004.

HEARTLAND FC

List of scorers after Round 3:

Osas Okoro 2, Okey Nwadike 1, Bello Musa Kofarmata 1.

Player information:

It is nice to see that bulky and skillful attacker Okey Nwadike looks set for a good season. Nwadike has been a bit of a fringe players the last couple of years, but has a reputation for scoring goals. I personally expect new signing Osas Okoro and the flying right-winger Bello Musa Kofarmata (born 12.05.1988) to share the scoring responsibilities this season. However, I guess the fans of Heartland is still wondering how the club could let go of the brilliant Emeka Nwanna (born 25.10.1982) to Rangers International FC.

JUTH FC

List of scorers after Round 3:

James Amankwe 2.

Player information:

It has all been about Ghanaian striker James Amankwe this season. Apparently, Amankwe scored 5 goals at second level last season and he has so far performed better than expected. Other reports state that Mohammed Babawo, the captain of JUTH FC from last season, will be trialing at Coventry City FC in England. This is somewhat surprising, given the difficulties getting work-permit for African players without any international experience.

KADUNA UNITED FC

List of scorers after Round 3:

Jude Aneke 2, Emmanuel Bivan 1, Yusuf Siman 1.

Player information:

Kaduna United FC are missing their playmaker Sani Aruwa (born 24.04.1987) who is currently injured. New confirmed signings include the experienced Rabiu Yusuf Baita (born 28.08.1984) from Wikki Tourists FC, a right winger who was member of Nigeria B in November 2008. Fidelis Saviour, a journeyman in Nigerian football has made a comeback for United, and can fill many attacking roles. Striker Jude Aneke (born 07.01.1989) has apparently found his scoring boots.

In my post “Player Information and squads – Nigerian Premier League 2010-2011 (Part one)”, I wrote that some reports indicated that Kaduna United FC had bought Abdoulaye Soulama (born 29.11.1974), the former full international goalkeeper for Burkina Faso, from Asante Kotoko FC. This can now be confirmed as false information as he sat on the bench for Kotoko in their match against BA Stars FC earlier today.

KANO PILLARS FC

List of scorers after Round 3:

Rabiu Ali 1, Mannir Ubale 1.

Player information:

CompleteSportsNigeria recently published the squad list of Kano Pillars FC:

Inua Kamilu Ammani, Haruna Abdul, Yampe John Simon, Rueben Gabriel, Musa Buhari, Muhammed Ahmad, Showemimo Abdulwasiu, Alhaji Muhammed Alhaji, Shagari Shehu Muh’d, Thompson Joseph Atang, Ogaga Moses, Gabriel Ikechukwu, Namo Victor, Musa Musa Umar, Usman Abba, Muhammad Gambo, Bala Muhammed, Mu’azu Murtala Adamu, Chigozie Muarice, Muhammed Yusuf, James Lucky, Ali Nasiru, Ali Rabiu, Ibrahim Nafiu Kabili. Afelokhai Theophilus, Sharif Isa, Kabiru Baba Isa, Ubale Mannir, Nazifi Ammani, Aondongu John, Abubakar Baleria.

Mannir Ubale (born 02.07.1991) is now a confirmed signing for Pillars and I think he could become one of the revelations of the season. Ubale was top goalscorer for Bayelsa United FC last season.

Another exciting signing is Nasiru Ali from Kwara United FC. Ali is a skillful and pacy right-winger who can score with both legs. Attacking midfielder John Huan, also known as John Aondongu, has joined Pillars from Sharks FC and will probably become a creative force.  Pillars have apparently signed Lucky James, a central defender who played for Lobi Stars FC in 2009-2010 and Jigawa Golden Stars FC in 2007-2008. Central defender Abdulwasiu Showemimo (born 10.10.1988), that I wrote about on 27.10.2010, has been ever present so far. I have also noticed left-back John Yampe who is indeed brilliant going forward to join the attack.

KWARA UNITED FC

List of scorers after Round 3:

Imenger Barnabas 1, Isiaka Olawale 1.

Player information:

CompleteSportsNigeria recently published the squad list of Kwara United FC:

Yekeen Kareem, Sodiq Suraj, Abubakar Lekan, Philemon Daniel, Sherif Jimoh, Lukman Yusuf, Soga Sambo, Saka Habib, Sibi Gwar, Halilu Obadaki, Tijani Lukman, Okemmiri Ogbonnaya, Chibuzor Osigwe, Aiyelabegan Karrem, Salihu Mustapha Aliko, Atere Segun, Olanrewaju Yemi, Olawale Isiaka, Yusuf Jaiyeola, Shakiru Rasaq, Raji Najeem, Osagie Monday, Nwaogu Benjamin, Arokoyo Gbenga, , Muritala Adekunle, Ajanah Chinedu, Imenger Barnabas, Sulieman Kadir, Kpakor Kelvin, Kabiru Sanusi, Agunloye Lekan, Orire Lukman, Okemmiri Anthony.

Chibuzor Osigwe joined Niger Tornadoes FC before the season. Otherwise, I have not found mistakes in the squad list.  Anthony Okemiri is a right-sided defender / winger who played for Dolphin FC at second level in 2008-2009. The main man in midfield is still old workhorse Isiaka Olawale (born 11.11.1983). Olawale has the strength to cover the entire pitch and is a great ball passer. Blessing Okardi (born 05.11.1988) was back in action this weekend after being suspended for several months. Okardi is just as hard-working as Olawale and I expect them to form an impressive partnership. Barnabas Imenger is a natural striker who was signed from the Kwara Football Academy.

LOBI STARS FC

List of scorers after Round 3:

Kingsley Odoh 2, Victor Barnabas 1.

Player information:

CompleteSportsNigeria recently published the squad list of Lobi Stars FC:

Abashi Joseph, Danlamin Umar, Abaya Terfa, Nwaogu Chimobi, Agbaji Anthony, Ochimawa Sulieman, Agbawu John, Akosu Terrimbir, Akighir Johnson, Akubo Loverth, Ezekiel Bassey, Ameh Godwin, Emeh Sunday, Samaila Suleiman, Ikpeen Terna, Ihejiene Darlington, Barnabas Victor, Zango Umar, Hingir Son, Ayeedze Mimi, Baba Hadi, Nenger Msen, Ogar Daniel, Chia Jacob, Ameh Yusuf, Akile David, Odoh Kingsley, Igbinoba Esosa, Melai Terkaa, Utsaha Iorwuese, Achimogwu Friday, Orkuma Moses, Ajia Emmanuel, Okpotu Anthony

Based on the list above, Lobi Stars FC has made several good signings before the season. Johnson Akighir (born 21.02.1982) was one the bright spots for Ranchers Bees FC last year. A veteran striker. Loveth Akubo is a former player of Taraba FC. Darlington Ihejiene, signed from Rangers International FC, should become a key player. Chimaobi Nwaogu played for Enyimba FC in 2008-2009 and Wikki Tourists FC in 2009-2010. Their midfield is led by Kingsley Odoh, a lanky creative midfielder that played for FC Abuja in 2008-2009 and was part of Nigeria B in May 2009.

Moses Bunde, the talented 1993-born striker who is a fringe player for the Super Eagles, has apparently signed for Vitoria Setubal from Portugal.

NIGER TORNADOES FC

List of scorers after Round 3:

Chibuzor Osigwe 1, Baba Sule 1.

Player information:

CompleteSportsNigeria recently published the squad list of Niger Tornadoes FC:

Daddy Bazuaye, Joshua Garba, Isyaku Haliyu Bomboy, Mohammed Abdullahi, Aliwa C. Emmanuel, Nduka Nwanne, Osita Emmanuel, Danladi Isah, Igado Andrew, Bolaji Adeyemi, Chinedu Justice, Okiki Tawose, Abubakar Ndayebo, Baba Sule, Otu’oze Jimoh Shehu, Sabole Shansu Shehu, Lukuman Mohammed, Mohammed Tasiu Lawal, Sunday Isaac Ajulo, Timothy Unachukwu, Shehu Abdullahi, Micheal Vangreg, Mahmmed Hamidu Kawu, Kingsley Elechi, Magaji Bala, Ekpoma Austin, Kabir Ibrahim, Omoregie Nobas, Emmanuel Egbeta

Okiki Tawose is first choice goalkeeper, formerly of Sunshine Stars FC. Bala Magaji is a new right-back, formerly of Wikki Tourists FC and Zamfara United FC. Chibuzor Osigwe is signed from Kwara United FC. Daddy Bazuaye (born 11.12.1988) should become a key member of the team, having played regularly for Enyimba FC for several seasons. Kingsley Elechi is a former player of Kano Pillars FC. He is a striker with a good dribble. Hamidu Kawu was signed from the Frimpong Football Academy, owned by JoeTex Frimpong of FC Luzern in Switzerland. Nwanne Nduka was actually part of Nigeria U-20 back in 2004. He has apparently had a stint in Israel. I am yet to confirm that Mohammed Tasiu is the same player that played for Ajax Cape Town from South Africa in 2008-2009. He is a striker born 01.01.1986 and played for Tornadoes before joining Ajax. I am also yet to confirm that “Emmanuel Egbeta” is the tall centre back Robert Emmanuel Egbeta (born 23.06.1989), that played for the Flying Eagles in the FIFA U-20 World Cup in 2007.

OCEAN BOYS FC

List of scorers after Round 3:

Christopher Chigozie 1, Ndubuisi Nkoro 1, Charles Omokaro 1.

Player information:

Sleeky right-winger Ndubuisi Nkoro is a former player of Kwara United FC and Bayelsa United FC. Giant goalkeeper Olufemi Thomas (born 05.08.1989) has been in impressive form this season.

PLATEAU UNITED FC

List of scorers after Round 3:

Ibrahim Kabiru 1.

Player information:

CompleteSportsNigeria recently published the squad list of Plateau United FC:

John Daddy, Akpabio George, Ayo Asekunowo, Ibrahim Jibrin, Abdullahi Shehu, Kwambe Solomon, Awaziem Emeka, Olaniyi Olayinka, Ayo S. Silas, Ayende Kabiru, Bala Umar, Obiazor David, Fan Lazarus, Yough G. Terna, Egborge Usu Akpobome, Kelly Paul, Nwokolo Johnson, Gyang Peter, Bewarang Edinard P., Monayan Dimika, Esim Collins Tochukwu, Illoe P. Uche, Odafe Amos Emmanuel, Mohammed Sale, Awazieni S. Dubem, Waziru Kabiru, Olorunde F. Abayomi, Stanley Dimgba S., Ibekwe Edike M., Nwobike A. Eze, Longji Obadiah Irimiya, Ajibade Omolade

Their most experienced player is arguably Ajibade Omolade (born 12.06.1984), a left-back who was a key member of Enyimba FC

from 2004 to 2008. Omolade played for Hilal Omdurman in Sudan before joining Plateau United FC before the season. George Akpabio was brilliantly profiled on SuperSport and was apparently top goalscorer last season despite being only 17. Ibrahim Kabiru, often referred to as Kabiru Waziri, will be important this season. Kabiru scored 9 goals for Zamfara United FC in 2007-2008 but failed to break through at Enyimba FC in 2008-2009.

RANGERS INTERNATIONAL FC

List of scorers after Round 3:

Fred Okwara 3, Uche Nwafor 2, Ejike Uzoenyi 2, Brendan Ogbu 1.

Player information:

CompleteSportsNigeria recently published the squad list of Rangers International FC:

Obiora Peter, Sunday Chinedu, Okoro Ogechukwu, Stephen Adah, Najare Musa, Adegunde Kola, Onyema Ambruse, Oriaku Cyril, Onuoha Emeka, Okafor Uche, Eze Monso, Ogbu Brendan, Obiekwu Henry, Ayalogu Godwin, Uzochukwu Ugonna, Chukwu Chimaobi, Nnam John, Uzoenyi Ejike, Ugwu Uwadiegwu, Egwu Chigozie, Yangbe Austin U, Umar Haliru, Taylor Charles, Okwara Fredrick, Eze Emeka, Yakubu Akeem, Ojo Mune, Anorgue Uzochukwu, Nonso Lala Elias, Obi Ebele, Nwofor Uche, Okammor Francis

I guess striker Uche Nwafor (born 28.02.1989) is the player on the lips of every fan of Rangers International FC. Nwafor played for Shooting Stars FC last season after joining them from Anambra Pillars FC during the season. Nwafor scored six goals and made his way into the squad of Nigeria B. He was also a trialist at Molde FK of Norway this summer. Left-winger Ejike Uzoenyi has also been impressive and interestingly, he was also a trialist in Norway this summer, training with Tromsø IL. Emeka Nwanna (born 25.10.1982), striker or right-winger, has recently been signed from Heartland FC and will become an important member of the team.

SHARKS FC

List of scorers after Round 3:

Victor Ezeji 2, Gomo Onduku 1.

Player information:

I personally think Sharks FC looks strong this season. Okiemute Odah (born 23.11.1988) is a competent goalkeeper at this level. Central defender Pape Ousmane Sané from Senegal is leading the defense. Juwon Oshaniwa is the talented left-back. Captain of Nigeria U-20, Fortune Chukwudi, (born 18.11.1992) can be used everywhere in defense or as a defensive midfielder. Otanwa Otanwa (born 03.10.1984), Kola Anubi (born 24.03.1987) and Chinedu Ezimorah are three experienced midfielders. Gomo Onduku is a star at the right-wing. Sharks FC have several options in the attacking roles. Victor Ezeji (born 09.06.1981) is the goal poacher and a regular. He will be partnered by Bright Ejike, who I wrote about on 10.10.2010, or talented Terry Envoh (born 12.12.1992), a former key player for Nigeria U-17 and currently a member of Nigeria U-20.

SHOOTING STARS FC

List of scorers after Round 3:

Chima Akas 2, Fuad Gbolahan Salami 2, Kabiru Alausa 1, Raheem Owolabi 1.

Player information:

CompleteSportsNigeria recently published the squad list of Shooting Stars FC:

Ebiaku Sylvanus, Akande Abiodun Asimiyi, Shaibu Karim, Oluwaniyi Segun Adebayo, Musa Kayode Rapheal, Akindele Abraham T, Osas Jolly Osaruminense, Oke Kelvin Tare, Alausa Kabiru, Raheem Isiaku Owolabi, Iyoma Festus, Foladun Leonard O, Orelope Tope Hamodu, Taiwo Olayiwola H, Omoyayi Korede S, Jonathan Justice O, Akas Uche Chima, Shola Abolade Sherih, Ladipo Abidemi Olawale, Adigun Olumide Lateef, Adepoju Adetayo Taofeek, Adeboye Gabriel Dada A, Adigun Abayomi O, Lawal Adewole S, Balogun Oluwasuen Alaba, Morenikeji Abiodun Y, Okanliawon Oliade K, Otedeji Jonathan O, Salam Gbolahan Fuad, Tunde Yusuf Yusuf, Daniel Tunde Daniel

One of the hottest players in Nigeria at the time of writing is arguably Chima Akas, who was wonderfully profiled on MTNfootball.com. It is not often a 16 year old sideback / winger makes such an impression. The star striker Gbolahan Salami was profiled by me in the post from 13.11.2010. Raheem Owolabi is another striker that gets rave reviews. Tare Oke is a new signing from Ocean Boys FC who is apparently an Ivorian right-back. Shooting Stars FC recently brought central defender Seun Afolabi (born 05.04.1989) to the club from Gateway FC. He should become a key member of the team.

SUNSHINE STARS FC

List of scorers after Round 3:

Ukeyima Akombo 2, Onyi Chiemeka 1, Cletus Itodo 1.

Player information:

CompleteSportsNigeria recently published the squad list of Sunshine Stars FC:

James Moses, Usman Sarafa, Anifowose Ganiyu, Mende Daniel, Ariyo David, Gaadi John, Babale Ibrahim A, Oboabona Godfrey, Ojo Dayo, Osawe Alaba, Adenike Alaba, Abe Sunday Oluwasina, Omoma Osasco Precious, Agwuocha George White, Emmanuel Sunday, Olorundare Dele, Inyam Ifeanyi Christian, Akintayo Yinka, Adamu Tijani, Ayodele Henry O, Akombo Ukeyima, Chiemeka Onyi Steve, Omeruo Josiah Kenneth, Ado Ali, Yinusa Oluwatosin, David Alilu Eboh, Ezioha Okereke A, Akinrolabu Gbemi, Eyoyinbo Henry, Abiodun Kayode T, Inah Ofem, Ajani Ibrahim, Ocheje Moses, Itodo Cletus

Sunshine Stars FC looks like a candidate for the title this season. Ukeyima Akombo (born 25.11.1987) is the target striker, forming a strong partnership with Ibrahim Abubakar Babale. I am also excited on how Christian Ifeanyi Inyam (born 20.12.1991) will handle the tough Nigerian league. Inyam played for ASEC Mimosas from Ivory Coast in 2009 and is a mobile and hard-working striker. The midfield looks strong with former Enyimba-men Ajani Ibrahim (born 05.03.1987) and Cletus Itodo (born 01.01.1984) blending in well with the enterprising Emmanuel Sunday. Ofem Inah, also a new signing from Enyimba FC, and Daniel Mende, formerly of Shooting Stars FC, have both impressed at right-back and left-back respectively.

WARRI WOLVES FC

List of scorers after Round 3:

Ekigho Ehiosun 3, Emmanuel Omodiagbe 1.

Player information:

Wolves should also be a contender for the title. However, things are not all good as central defender Ike Thankgod (born 04.04.1985) looks set for a move abroad when the transfer window opens, most likely to Bahrain or Egypt. He will be sorely missed. Goalkeeper Ambruse Vanzekin (born 14.07.1986) was once the most talented in Nigeria and looks to be back in top form. Emmanuel Omodiagbe (born 19.10.1985) and Michael Okoye (born 1991) form a wonderful midfield pair, Okoye being the creative while Omodiagbe is more of a holding midfielder. New signing from Dolphins, Sunday Mba, is also a creative midfielder that will become an important player for Wolves. Talented Ekigho Ehiosun looks set for a good season while I am still waiting for winger Ebuka Okafor to show his potential.

ZAMFARA UNITED FC

List of scorers after Round 3:

Oba Dada 1, Own Goals 1.

Player information:

A team extremely hard to find information about. Apparently striker Timothy Ndubuisi is back with Zamfara after a spell at Kaduna United FC. Ghazali Mohammed (born 20.05.1985), formerly of Kano Pillars FC and Assyut Petrol of Egypt, is apparently still key player together with captain Austin Kadiri.
