List of scorers after Round 8:

Yakubu Mohammed 2, Addoquaye Addo 1, Nana Yaw Afriyie 1, Theophilus Anobaah 1.

Player information:

Isaac Akrong (born 29.08.1988) started the season in goal but now seems to have lost his place to the usual first-choice Fatau Dauda (born 06.04.1985). Dauda is usually regarded as one of the best goalkeepers in Ghana and has spent at least five seasons with AshantiGold SCOne of the most exciting defenders in Ghana is right-back Nana Yaw Afriyie (born 08.11.1992), formerly of Tema Youth FC. He offers a lot going forward to support the attack and had a brilliant season in 2009-2010. Daniel Asamoah is the long-serving central defender and captain of AshantiGold SC. Probably about 24 years of age, based on his performances for the youth-sides of Ghana. Asamoah is usually partnered by Sampson Cudjoe (born 22.06.1988) who played professionally in Finland before joining AshantiGold SC before the season. His start has been impressive and he is now a fringe player for the Black Stars. Central defender John Ashong (born 02.11.1981), formerly of Hasaacas FC, is a great option. Michael Boakye (born 20.06.1992) is a talented central defender who failed to break through at Asante Kotoko FC last season. Henry Entsir (born 07.09.1990) is a talented central defender or right-back. Aziz Ibrahim is a new signing, usually found in defense. I think this is the youngster formerly of New Edubiase United FC and King Faisal, born 06.10.1993.  Latif Mohammed (born 22.10.1990) has developed a bit of a reputation as a goal scoring left-back / left-winger. Signed from Great Olympics before the season.  It is fair to say that AshantiGold SC has several options in defence. Defensive midfielder Malik Akowuah (born 07.04.1989) was signed from Great Olympics before the seasons, which could very well turn out to be a strike of genius. Akowuah is a tall midfielder who is strong in the tackle and fiercely competitive on the ball. Theophilus Anobaah is a great option in midfield. Emmanuel Adjetey (born 15.12.1988) is an experienced midfielder despite his young age. Daniel Djangba (born 13.02.1992) and Jonas Frimpong (born 26.11.1987) are two midfielders that has gotten some playing time this season. Both are rather unknown players to be. Aminu Mohammed (born 21.05.1989) is the midfield engine of the team and a player to watch. Addoquaye Addo (born 23.04.1985) is the creative force of AshantiGold SC from his position at left-wing. Two footed and very skillful and well-known for his many assists. My guess for top goalscorer this season is Yakubu Mohammed (born 26.07.1990). Mohammed scored five goals in the last eight rounds of 2009-2010. Experienced striker Edmund Owusu Peprah (born 23.04.1984) usually has the supporting role. Formerly of Kessben FC and King Faisal. AshantiGold SC has apparently signed a player called Henri Traoré who I suspect is the full international player for Burkina Faso.

List of scorers after Round 8:

Daniel Larbi Coomson 3, Mamudu Suleman 1.

NB: According to some sources, Mahmud Oshee scored in Round 3 against Real Tamale United, and not Mamudu Suleman.

Player information:

A team difficult to find information about. Their goalkeeper is Nurudeen Mohammed (born 21.01.1988), signed from Kessben FC where he was mostly used as reserve in 2009-2010. Apparently Ernest Adu, is the backup goalkeeper. Defender Fuseini Adams (born 21.11.1978), formerly of AshantiGold SC, Chelsea Berekum and Arsenal FC Berekum, is one of the more experienced players of the team. Left-back Kwame Osei (born 10.03.1987) spent several years at Asante Kotoko FC. Central defender Daniel Ocran will probably become an important member of the team. He is a former key-player of Hasaacas FC. BA Stars FC has a midfielder called Mamudu who is a bit of a mystery to me. According to some sources, this is Mamudu Suleman (born 25.09.1990) a midfielder, signed from Kessben FC. According to other sources, this is Mahmud Oshee (born 06.08.1988), also a former Kessben-player. This can also very well be the same player. Playmaker Daniel Larbi Coomson (born 22.09.1989) is apparently the captain of the team and arguably their most important player. Formerly of Great Olympics, Sporting Mirren and Zaytuna FC. Sometimes used as a left-winger. Centre forward Daniel Bomfah is a new signing from Wa All Stars FC, probably about 26-28 years of age.  Has a good reputation in local football. BA Stars FC has a player called Seidu Dauda who could either be the former AshantiGold-defender or a former striker of Brong Ahofu United FC and Gamba All Blacks FC. BA Stars FC has several players unknown to me, including Abubakari Sadiq, Ishmael Otoo Amoah, Amos Frimpong / or Akwasi Frimpong and striker Joseph Halm. Hopefully I will soon have more information about this newly-promoted team.

List of scorers after Round 8:

Emmanuel Clottey 2, Alfred Arthur 1, Mohammed Abdul Basit 1, Bismark Idan 1, Obed Owusu 1, Own Goals 1.

Player information:

The goalkeeper of Chelsea is Ernest Sowah (born 31.03.1988), a former B and U-23 international, formerly of Tema Youth FC. Talented right-back Eric Agyemang (born 01.05.1989) is a player for the future. Alfred Arthur (born 25.12.1986) is a fringe player for the Black Stars, formerly of AshantiGold SC. Midfielder Yaw Alexander (born 06.01.1987) was part of Ghana U-23 in 2006 and is a key player for Chelsea. Formerly of Tema Youth FC and Brong Ahofu United. Midfielder Mohammed Abdul Basit (born 19.01.1986) has been with Chelsea for three seasons. Midfielder Edward Kpodo is a former key-player for Tema Youth FC and has been member of Ghana B the last year. Awudu Moro (born 01.05.1982) is a midfield-veteran, formerly of Brong Ahofu United FC. The longest-serving player of Chelsea is midfielder Jackson Owusu (born 15.10.1988). Obed Owusu (born 16.04.1985) is a striker / right-winger with an interesting CV. In November 2008 he played two matches and scored one goal for the B-team of Benin in the so-called UMEOA-tournament. Owusu is however a Ghanaian and in September 2009 he made his full international debut for Ghana in a friendly against Argentina. A former top-goalscorer for Gamba All Blacks FC. Emmanuel Osei Banahene (born 16.08.1988) is a striker with a great physical presence. Played professionally in Israel in 2008 and 2009 and was signed from Heart of Lions FC before the season. Emmanuel Clottey (born 30.08.1987) is a striker who made his full international debut for the Black Stars against Sudan earlier this month. Formerly of Wacker Innsbruck in Austria and Odense BK in Denmark. Burly striker Bismark Idan (born 10.08.1989) was joint top-goalscorer in the GLO Premier League 2009-2010, scoring 14 goals for Kessben FC. Ibrahim Issaka (born 15.08.1985) is a good striker who should be good for about five goals this season, just like the last two seasons. Attacker Sadat Karim (born 24.10.1989) was signed from Real Tamale United FC where he had kind of a breakthrough last season.

List of scorers after Round 8:

Bismark Asiedu 3, Moustapha Douglas 2, Francis Gyebi 1, Abdul Aziz Yusif 1, Seidu Bansi 1, Own Goals 1.

Player information:

Dwarfs has one of the most talented goalkeepers in Ghana, Foli Adade (born 10.12.1992). He was actually on the bench when Ghana U-20 beat Benin U-20 earlier this month. Ekow Ampiah is a more experienced goalkeeper who apparently was a key-player last season. Veteran George Owu (born 07.07.1982) should however be the safest choice, having lots of experience from Al-Masry in the Egyptian league. At least 10 full international matches for Ghana. Stephen Aidoo (born 22.10.1986) is  a former captain of Eleven Wise FC and a strong defender. Central midfielder Godwin Ablordey (born 23.05.1977) is as far as I know one the oldest outfield players in the GLO Premier League. More than debut for Ghana A more than 10 years ago. Played professionally in Cyprus before joining Dwarfs. Sadiq Haji Abubakar (born 23.12.1987) was signed from Arsenal FC Berekum before the season. Apparently a sharp-shooting midfielder. Patrick Cole is a midfielder that is rather unknown to me. Midfielder Michael Amissah Insaidoo (born 11.08.1987) played for Liberty Professionals FC back in 2007-2008. Richard Nyanful (born 01.02.1988) is a defender / midfielder, formerly of Gamba All Blacks FC. Edward Adjaglo was regarded as a wonder boy in 2007-2008 when he scored 2 league goals for Hearts of Oak SC. His whereabouts the lasts years are unknown to me. The playmaker and captain of the team is Bismark Asiedu (born 17.09.1984), formerly of Gamba All Blacks FC. Winger Mustapha Douglas is also important in the attacking play of Dwarfs.  Has been with Dwarfs for several seasons but played for Gamba All Blacks FC in 2007-2008. Abdul Aziz Yusuf (born 10.11.1991) is a promising goal-scoring left-winger and a former member of Ghana U-17. Scored for Ghana U-20 earlier this year. Was arguably the big star of Real Tamale United FC last season. Seidu Bansi (born 15.05.1990) is a striker who scored double figures for New Edubiase United FC last season – at least 11 goals.  A burly striker who holds up the ball superbly. Highly-regarded attacker Kwame Asimeng Frimpong (born 15.03.1992) was also signed from New Edubiase United FC. Dwarfs has also used some players that are unknown to me, including Stephen Adu, Armah Mensah and Abdul Razak.
