SPECIAL REPORT – LIST OF SCORERS IN THE NIGERIA FOOTBALL LEAGUE 2009-2010 (PART FOUR)

RANCHERS BEES FC

4 goals – CHUKWU – unknown player to me, scored against Kwara United FC in Round 16, against Warri Wolves FC in Round 25, against Kaduna United FC in Round 32 and against Lobi Stars FC in Round 33.

4 goals – Stephen SAVIOUR – veteran striker, formerly of Lobi Stars FC, Nasarawa United FC, Niger Tornadoes FC and Sunshine Stars FC.

2 goals – Johnson AKIGHIR – veteran striker born 21.02.1982, formerly of Delta Force FC, Plateau United FC and Lobi Stars FC.

2 goals – Peter BAKO – striker, formerly of Zamfara United FC.

2 goals – Kabiru IBRAHIM – unknown player to me.

2 goals – Buhari JAFARU – unknown player to me.

1 goal – Ali ADAMU – unknown player to me.

1 goal – Alex AGBO – unknown player who apparently was signed from Wikki Tourists FC.

1 goal – Abubakar Mohamed BALERIA – central defender born 08.07.1985. Formerly of Kano Pillars FC and Enyimba FC. Joined Shooting Stars FC in the middle of 2009-2010.

1 goal – Mohammed LAWAL – unknown player to me.

1 goal – Kabiru MOHAMMED – unknown player to me.

1 goal – Fine MUYIDEEN – unknown player to me.

1 goal – Mamaya YUSUF – midfielder who joined Sharks FC in the middle of 2009-2010.

ENUGU RANGERS INTERNATIONAL FC

6 goals – Nonso ELIAS – widely regarded as the top striker of Rangers. The enterprising Elias played for Akwa United FC before signing for Rangers before 2009-2010.

5 goals – Damian UDEH – petit midfielder born 15.10.1986. The midfield dynamo has formerly played for Enyimba FC, Heartland FC and Espérance Sportive de Tunis from the Tunisian capital. Udeh was a key player for Rangers this season, playing almost all matches. Joined his old Heartland FC this summer and played in the 2010 Champions League.

4 goals – Fred OKWARA – striker born 19.03.1989. Top goalscorer in 2008-2009. Will apparently play for Dolphins FC of Port Harcourt in 2010-2011.

3 goals – John NNAM – petit right wing-back born 15.12.1986. Arguably one of the best full-backs in Nigerian football, known for his overlapping runs. He is strong and uncompromising in the tackle and offers a potent goalscoring threat going forward. Has been with Rangers since 2003, according to my sources.

2 goals – Darlington IHEJIENE – versatile and experienced player, useful as attacker or defender, formerly Niger Tornadoes FC, Dolphins FC of Port Harcourt and Jasper United FC. Has reportedly been released by Rangers.

2 goals – Ejike UZOENYI – 22 year old left-winger. Trialist at Tromsø IL (Norway) this summer but did not impress enough. Is nevertheless one of the best wingers in Nigerian football, performing well for Gateway FC, Enyimba FC and Rangers since 2008-2009. Member of Nigeria B in 2010.

1 goal – Kola ABEGUDE – unknown player to me.

1 goal – Sunday JOHNSON – striker, formerly of Lobi Stars FC and Gombe United FC.

1 goal – Musa NAJARE – unknown player to me.

1 goal – Charles NEGEDU – tall striker born 10.10.1989. After impressing for Kaduna United FC in 2007-2008 second level) he was somewhat surprisingly brought to Tunisia and top club Etoile du Sahel for the 2008-2009 season. Did not get too many chances in Tunisia and signed for Rangers in the middle of 2009-2010. Has reportedly been released by Rangers.

1 goal – Andrew NWODU – experienced defender, member of Nigeria A back in 2001. Former Nasarawa United FC and Sharks FC.

1 goal – Brendan OGBU – scored two goals in 2008-2009.

1 goal – Nduka OZOKWO – striker born 25.12.1988 who had a short spell with Rangers in 2009-2010 before signing for Turkish outfit Boluspor. Played for OGC Nice in France between 2007-2009 and has been a regular player for Nigerian youth teams, especially Nigeria U-20, shining in the 2007 U-20 World Cup.

1 goal – Charles Asampong TAYLOR – creative striker from Ghana born 14.07.1981. 10-15 full international matches for Ghana, three goals. In Ghana, famous for his performances for one of the country’s best sides, Hearts of Oak SC. Is reportedly a fans favorite at Rangers and definitely a quality player.  At the time of writing, it seemed uncertain if he would play for Rangers in 2010-2011.

Two goals are missing – one against Wikki Tourists FC in Round 18 and one against Ocean Boys FC in Round 27.

SHARKS FC PORT HARCOURT

12 goals – Victor EZEJI – one of the stars of Nigerian local football. A striker born 09.06.1981, formerly Enyimba FC, Dolphins FC and Club Africain in Tunisia. Ezeji is a guarantee for goals at this level. Scored 15 league goals for Sharks FC back in 2002. Played a couple of full international matches for Nigeria between 2002 and 2004.

7 goals – Bright EJIKE – full report in my post from 10.10.2010.

4 goals – Okiemute ODAH – Odah is actually the goalkeeper of Sharks FC as well as the regular penalty-taker. Member of Nigeria U-17 in 2005.

3 goals – Thankgod AMAEFULE – attacker born 16.12.1984, known for his physical presence. Played in Poland and Greece for several seasons before joining Dolphins FC in 2007. Signed for city rivals Sharks FC before 2008-2009 and is now a regular for Nigeria B, making his full international debut for Nigeria at 03.03.2010 against DR Congo.

3 goals – Kola ANUBI – the small midfielder is a key player for Sharks FC. Member of Nigeria U-20 in 2005 and Nigeria U-23 in 2007. Born 24.03.1987. Known as “Babyface for his boyish looks.

3 goals – Pascal EJIKE – unknown player to me.

3 goals – Gomo ONDUKU – young right-winger, formerly of Bayelsa United FC.

2 goals – Juwon OSHANIWA – defender, formerly of Lobi Stars FC and Kwara United FC. Member of Nigeria U-20 in 2008.

1 goal – Mohammed ABDULLAHI – unknown player, possibly the former Niger Tornadoes-man.

1 goal – Terry ENVOH – extremely talented striker born 12.12.1992. Regular for Nigeria U-17 in 2008 and 2009 and is currently one of the stars for the U-20 national team. Joined Sharks FC from Mighty Jets FC in the middle of the season.

1 goal – Ifeanyi ESOBE – defender who was part of Nigeria U-23 in 2008.

1 goal – Chinedu EZIMORAH – central midfielder or right-back who is highly regarded in the local league. Former Enyimba. Played for Nigeria A at 03.03.2010 against DR Congo.

1 goal – Gift IBIBO – a coming man who scored 2 goals in 2008-2009.

1 goal – Raji NOJEEM – defender born 02.08.1984, formerly of Enyimba.

1 goal – Friday NWOGA – striker who scored 2 goals in 2008-2009.

1 goals – Manir USMAN – unknown player to me.

SHOOTING STARS FC

6 goals – Uche NWOFOR – the revelation of the season. A powerfully-built striker born 28.02.1989 who joined Shooting Stars FC from Anambra Pillars FC halfway in the season. Trialist at Molde FK (Norway) this summer. Played for Nigeria A at 03.03.2010 against DR Congo.

4 goals – Tope ORELOPE – attacking midfielder and arguably one of the key players at the club.

3 goals – David ABIDOYE – experienced, speedy striker born 23.11.1987. Had a stint in Vietnam in 2008. Formerly of Heartland FC, Kwara United FC and Lobi Stars FC.

3 goals – Akeem ADEBISI – young, talented striker who was central when Shooting Stars won promotion in 2008-2009. Member of Nigeria U-20 in 2008. One of the top goalscorers at second level in 2008-2009.

2 goals – Timothy IDOGBE – arguably the star striker at the start of 2009-2010 but it is fair to say that his goalscoring records was a bit disappointing, partly because of injuries.

2 goals – Nafiu TAIWO – impressive left-winger. Member of Nigeria B in 2010.

1 goals – Bolaji ADEKUNLE – defensive midfielder. Member of Nigeria U-20 in 2009.

1 goal – Meshack CHUKWUBUIKEM – although being an important member of the squad for the last years, striker Chukwubuikem has apparently been released by Shooting Stars FC.

1 goal – Zuzu DANIEL – unknown player to me.

1 goal – Dolapo OMOTAYO – talented striker born 22.10.1989. Had a stint at Polonia Warszawa during 2009-2010.

1 goal – Karimu SHAIBU – well-known striker in Nigerian football, born 10.12.1984. Member of the Nigeria U-17 at the FIFA U-17 World Cup in 2001, scoring 3 goals in the tournament. Formerly of JUTH FC, Heartland FC and Bendel Insurance FC.

1 goal – Own Goal in Round 34 against Warri Wolves FC.
